Sir Evil the Braniac
Sir Evil rarely doubted himself and his plans. He was good at creating scenarios which would harm or endanger his opponents. This was due to the fact that he cared for no one but himself and his pet goldfish, Engelbert. Yet today, he was doubting himself largely. He had checked and double-checked his arrangements, to make certain he would ensnare the Whiz Kid in his trap. Yet time and time again, he had been outwitted by his cunning opponent. Their competiveness had begun several years ago. At the ripe young age of eleven, Sir Evil had enrolled in a competition where the competitors had to memorize as much of pi as they possibly could. Sir Evil had felt fairly certain he would win, especially after he recited 240 digits of pi. Then his charming and handsome next door neighbor, the Whiz Kid appeared. The Whiz Kid had been born with several birth defects. He had an unusually good memory and could run at fast speeds, faster than any typical human possibly could. He entered the competition and promptly stated 241 digits of pi. Sir Evil was humiliated. From that day forward, he vowed to never allow the Whiz Kid to beat him again. But this occurred all before the nuclear incident. When Sir Evil turned twelve he went on vacation to a small village in Asia which held a large nuclear power plant. He was visiting the plant on a guided tour, when disaster struck. An earthquake occurred and the nuclear particles escaped, engulfing the small town. Many died, while others developed odd qualities such as a second nose. Sir Evil gained a huge brain which allowed him to remember every event, place, and person he had ever encountered. This “superpower” allowed him to plot against the Whiz Kid, and 10 years later he was still doing this.Sir Evil had constructed a plan. He hoped to lure the Whiz Kid into an abandoned warehouse by pretending that someone was trapped inside. Then he would trap the Whiz Kid into a metal cage. Sir Evil would then recite 500 digits of pi to him, thus finally defeating his archenemy. Sir Evil loved these kinds of villainous acts. He used to be a kind child, but after his defeat on pi day, he grew evil, in accordance with his name. His mother was quite uncanny at guessing the character of a person before they were even born.Sir Evil knew the plan was foolproof. He had created a plastic dummy that had a shocking resemblance to a young woman. He created a system with his vast knowledge of electronics which created a screaming sound that would appear to be coming from the dummy. Once Whiz arrived, and stepped into the rectangular area surrounding the woman, a cage would fall and entrap him within. After he finished reciting pi, Sir Evil planned on allowing Whiz to go on his way, he’d be embarrassed and shown up and that was all Sir Evil had wanted his entire teenage years. He would finally have his revenge. “Muahahahahahaha, my evil plan is fantastically evil”, Sir Evil cackled as he thought of what was soon to come.Around noon, Sir Evil knew that Whiz would be in the surrounding area so he started the high-pitched screaming that erupted from the small abandoned warehouse. He waited in the shadowy depths for what felt like hours. Suddenly he heard approaching footsteps. Whiz was running as quickly as he could to save who he perceived to be a young woman.Whiz entered the building sprinting at 40 miles an hour. He ran to the woman and stared at her. “Of course. It’s not even a person. I’ve been bamboozled yet again” he said in a monotone voice. “Well of course you have, I am Sir Evil after all”, Sir Evil proclaimed grandly as an iron cage dropped down to trap Whiz inside.“Not again… you just need to get over the past my friend”, Whiz said calmly. “These things never work out in your favor, this must be the 8th time you’ve attempted something like this.”“But this time it shall work, Whiz. I know everything about this building and that cage, and you are not escaping until I have recited enough of pi to make you go mad.” Sir Evil erupted into malicious laughter at that point.Sir Evil then began to recite pi, his eyes closed, allowing the numbers to escape and flow freely from his lips. That was when he noticed the absence of noise in the room. He turned back to the iron cage and noticed that no one was in it. Whiz had escaped! But how? The cage was nearly invincible, its only weakness was one slightly loose peg, but surely Whiz could not have found it, and it would have made noise to take it out! Sir Evil glanced at the peg, it didn’t appear to be moved, but then he realized that the super speed of Whiz would have allowed him to take the bar off so quickly it would have been difficult to see or hear it. He had to be stopped.Sir Evil then realized that Engelbert was missing. He chased Whiz to his hiding place, a place he had only been once, a shoelace factory in Iowa. He got on his hot air balloon and flew to the Iowan factory. Whiz was waiting for him though. As soon as Sir Evil arrived, he walked into a trap. All of the doors had been covered in the world’s stickiest tape, Sir Evil walked into the tape and was stuck. He knew there were hardly any ways to free oneself from the sticky tape, he didn’t possess any of the items needed to free himself. Whiz slowly and casually walked up to him. He then proceeded to recite 1,000 digits of Pi, something Sir Evil had never thought to do.Sir Evil had been defeated, and would have to use his great memorization skills to ruin Whiz another day. However, Engelbert was safe.
